Pranayama Meditation and Yoga

Here I demonstrate how to use a bolster to balance the body and how to move in and out of different positions.

What To Expect

To give you an idea about what to expect from my class, firstly I would say to new students that Yoga is non-competitive and rather encourages us to look inwardly, focusing on our ourselves rather than comparing to others.

My classes are inclusive and welcoming to all adults, whether you are new to yoga, have lapsed in practice or are already a yogi. Anyone can practice yoga no matter what your strength or flexibility is.

A typical class incorporates meditation, breathing techniques, postures, and relaxation.

During the class I ask students to listen to their own body going at their own pace and time whilst trying to stay mindful and focused throughout the practice.

Many people who regularly practise yoga say that they feel more energised, relaxed and refreshed as well as improving their strength and flexibility over time. Yoga practice can really help to promote both mental and physical well-being.

What To Bring

A yoga (or thin non-slip exercise) mat

A blanket

Water

It is also important to wear comfortable clothing that you can move in and layers to add or remove once you warm up and cool down. I suggest leggings or shorts.

Injuries and Cautions

I always ask students to make me aware if they have injuries or physical restrictions so that I can advise on modifications to the practice and cater for any specific areas of concern so that you can practice in safety. You may also have some concerns about your mental well- being which I understand though unseen can have a profound effect and I will endeavour to accommodate your needs with understanding and support.

Whatever your flexibility or ability, you will be taught in an encouraging and supportive to address your individual needs.

With patience, time and practice many people can increase their range of physical mobility and strength as well as improving their mental wellbeing.
